Spirituality and Mourning for your Pets

http://www.islandpacket.com/2013/12/21/2857344/what-should-clergys-role-be-in.html
I have written a column in the newspaper on religious rituals for pets. Do we mourn for them like we would do for humans? Are they spiritual beings like us? Take a look and tell me what you think?
Thanks for taking the time to read this article.

I loved the article. I have no human children by choice but I do have many furry children. They bring me comfort and pleasure and love me unconditionally. I hate that they are still considered property under the law which makes them expendable without accountability to some people. I am happy to see them included in our spiritual life as they have souls and hearts and feelings. I have lost 3 pets this year and will recite the mourners kaddish for each one for a year to assure their assent to heaven for that is where they belong. Thank you for taking the time to address this issue.
